Wasini Island lies South east Kenya, 3 Kilometres off the coast of the Indian Ocean, 75 kilometres south of Mombasa opposite the harbour of the village of Shimoni. We start early from our beach hotels, to be at Shimoni jetty before low tide. We will sail to a tiny sand bank known as Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park where you can snorkel between coral reefs. On the way you will have a chance to see dolphins and afterwards enjoy Swahili cuisine. The island has only footpaths of sharp old coral or sand. There are no autocars, carts or bicycles.
